Rayo Vallecano has issued a statement in response to the accusations spread by the X @carrerarayismo account, in which it defends its actions during the celebration of the VII Carrera del Rayismo and directly points to the event organization for the damage caused at the Vallecas Stadium. The club assures that the Community of Madrid formally requested the use of the stadium on March 9 to host the sports event on June 13 and 14. And from the beginning, the club expressed its reservations about the possibility of the race ending inside the stadium, arguing the need to protect the grass and the playing field, especially after the problems suffered during the season. Rayo Vallecano assures that on June 2, it received a communication from the Community of Madrid in which it was guaranteed that the runners would access the stadium through gate 16 and finish the route behind one of the goals, without stepping on the playing field at any time. However, it claims that this commitment was breached by the organization, allowing massive access of thousands of participants to the grass. The Madrid team assures that it previously warned the Community of Madrid of the risks derived from the organization of the test and claims that it is the main victim of the events that occurred, both due to the damage suffered on the grass and the alleged misuse of its corporate symbols. So the club announces that it reserves the right to take any legal actions it deems necessary to defend its interests and claim the economic and patrimonial damages it estimates to have suffered as a consequence of the denounced events. The Vallecas stadium suffered significant damage during the celebration of the race. The event organization has been pointed out as responsible for the damage. The club is evaluating legal options to claim the damages suffered. The stadium's grass was severely damaged during the event.
