Rayo Vallecano has taken measures to secure the start of the 2026-27 season in La Liga. According to Superdeporte, they have notified LaLiga that El Plantío, in Burgos, is their alternative stadium if Vallecas is not available. The choice follows the failed attempts to secure Butarque, José Zorrilla or the Carlos Belmonte. An agreement with Burgos CF has emerged as the most viable way to stage home fixtures if ongoing works at Vallecas prevent its use. Despite this, Rayo Vallecano still intend to begin the season at Vallecas. The club and the squad hope to resolve differences with the Community of Madrid in the coming days and that the required improvements will keep the team alongside their supporters from the outset. Designating El Plantío provides sporting and administrative cover, reducing the risk of fixture disruption. Rayo Vallecano's first scheduled home match is on 20 August, so the coming weeks will determine whether they remain at Vallecas or relocate temporarily to Burgos.
