Rayo Vallecano is confronting a fresh off-field crisis that threatens to leave its stadium without a security provider. The company Ariete, which handles security at the Estadio de Vallecas, could terminate its contract with the club due to unpaid debts accumulated over recent months. This issue is compounded by the team's precarious sporting situation, sitting 16th in La Liga with just 9 points from nine games, having recorded two wins and three draws.

Last Saturday's 0-3 defeat to Elche may have been Ariete's final service at Vallecas. In that match, goals from Federico Redondo Solari and Fernando Niño Rodríguez, both from penalties, and another from Germán Valera sealed the heavy loss. Club president Raúl Martín Presa has the necessary documentation to rescind the agreement, with a final decision expected by Wednesday. "The match played this Saturday against Elche could have been Ariete's last service at Vallecas," confirmed journalist José David Palacio.

The club has started searching for alternative firms, but the process is complicated. Other security companies have contacted Ariete to verify the payment status before accepting the role, slowing down the hunt for a replacement. This leaves Rayo in a vulnerable position ahead of the next league fixture.

Institutional instability and fan dissatisfaction are worsened by this new issue. It is not the first time the club has faced disruptions to essential services; last season there were problems with ambulance management at the ground. The team also has a negative goal difference, having scored 12 and conceded 20.

The next match is at home against Celta Vigo on Saturday 31 October, a key fixture in the battle to avoid relegation. The visitors currently sit 9th in the table. The squad, with Sergio Camello as top scorer on seven goals, must deal with this distraction while trying to improve an inconsistent run of form that has seen just one win in the last five outings. During that spell, the team's form reads one win, three draws and one loss, a sequence including the 1-1 draw at Getafe, a 0-0 stalemate with Athletic Club and a 1-1 result at Osasuna. The board has until Wednesday to resolve a matter that, if left unsolved, would jeopardise matchday operations at Vallecas.
