Rayo Vallecano's home match against Elche CF this Saturday has been declared high-risk by the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport. The measure, taken by its Permanent Commission, is a response to fears that local fans will repeat protest actions against club president Raúl Martín Presa. The team faces this key fixture, to be played on Saturday 24 October, sitting 14th in LaLiga EA Sports, with 9 points from eight games, having recorded two wins, three draws and three losses.

"The measure is adopted due to the possibility that Rayo fans will again carry out protest actions against the entity's president, Raúl Martín Presa," the body explained. This announcement follows the suspension of the match against Athletic Club on October 10, halted in the 24th minute with the score 0-0 due to objects being thrown from the stands. On the pitch, Andoni Iraola's team arrives with a recent run of one win, three draws and one loss in their last five outings, including the 1-1 draw at Getafe on Monday 19 October, where Álvaro García put Rayo ahead. Their goal tally this season stands at 12 scored and 17 conceded.

The next opponent, Elche, occupies 18th place and visited Vallecas last season in a match Rayo won 1-0. With forward Sergio Camello as the team's top scorer with seven goals, the Vallecas side will look to secure three key points against a direct rival in the lower part of the table as they try to close an 18-point gap to the leaders, Barcelona.

The club has announced it will compensate season ticket holders for the three home matches that had to be played at Leganés's Butarque stadium, a consequence of the partial closure of Vallecas. This refund will be processed before December 31, 2026. In parallel, the entity has communicated the return of the traditional stripe to the kit for the 2027/28 season, a gesture aimed at bridging the gap with its supporters.

With eyes on the match, Rayo will look to secure three key points against a direct rival in the lower part of the table. The match is scheduled for Saturday at 14:00 at the Estadio de Vallecas, corresponding to the tenth round of the competition.
