The Consejería de Cultura, Turismo y Deporte of the Comunidad de Madrid decided to suspend the concession that had been granted to Rayo Vallecano of Madrid for the Estadio de Vallecas.
What does Javier Tebas say?
Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, spoke about the situation at an event organized by LaLiga to welcome the teams that will play in the professional football league this season: “There is time and, when a club registers for the competition, there is an alternative stadium and Rayo can play in that alternative stadium or another one”. Rayo Vallecano finished the 2025 season in 13th place in the La Liga table, with 35 points, 8 wins, 11 draws and 12 losses in 31 games, and a goal difference of -9.

Rayo Vallecano has to find a solution to play their home games. Javier Tebas assured that the team can play in an alternative stadium and that they have time to find a solution. The team's next fixture is against Getafe on February 21, 2027, at home.
